After our week in Grants, the Odoms and we continued on to Arizona.
The entrance to Arizona via I-40 is quite colorful as the blatant commercialism from decades ago still thrives. The setting would be dramatic if not for being almost comical with its concrete teepees and animals.
We had lunch at a rest stop picnic table.
We spent the night in a campground in Flagstaff, nice trees, but crowded sites.
The next couple nights would be spent in Golden Valley, just west of Kingman.
We drove to Kingman and looked around at the railroad display, then had the requisite root beer floats in honor of Route 66 which passes through Kingman.
